Licensing

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011. What does that mean? The Texas Department of State Health Services regulates who may carry this title. Requirements include a Master’s degree from an accredited program, at least 3000 hours post graduate practice under weekly supervision, at least 18 months post graduate supervised experience, and passing the National Counseling Exam. Also continuing education must be maintained.

Licensed Professional Counselors are also held to ethical standards to protect client’s well being.
