Anxiety is an issue that is all too common, but fortunately I am well versed in ways to help people find a sense of peace and calm again in their everyday lives through counseling.

Anxiety can stand alone. And it is often happening in tandem with something else.

  • 40-50% of people with a BFRB also have an Anxiety disorder.
  • Most Neurodivergent adults also have Anxiety. Such as ADHD, Autism, and Sub clinical Autism (when it is almost autism).
  • PTSD is an Anxiety disorder
  • Social Anxiety is a specific type of Anxiety
  • Re-entry Anxiety- when a situation is avoided for a long time, even out of necessity or circumstances, and it is time to that that think again. Like being in the community again after Covid.
  • Sometimes just feels like the gears on grinding in the activities of every day life, maybe the emotions of fear aren’t even on your radar.
  • Or full on panic attacks hijack or life.

The good news is that Anxiety is VERY treatable. There are several options to reduce anxiety, many are gentle and quickly restore your quality of life.

There are many ways anxiety can manifest in someone’s life, and at varying degrees of severity. It may be limited to specific fears or generalized to a constant buzz of nervousness. Anxiety can make daily tasks seem harder than they have to be and demand all of your courage to take steps forward. Sometimes it is completely paralyzing, so that you barely function at all. It may make you feel shaky, distracted, sleepless, or withdrawn. Some people turn to unhealthy ways to manage their anxiety, such as drinking, emotional eating, or isolating.

Here is a different way of thinking about Anxiety:
